2013 was a big year for Roots. Here's a rundown:
- Released 7 new versions of the Roots Theme
- Integrated Grunt into the master branch to better automate theme development
- Updated to Bootstrap 3 as soon as it was released
- Added LESS source maps support
- Moved from Google Groups to Discourse for our discussion forum
- Acquired the Roots name on GitHub thanks to a gentleman named Rick
- Moved from rootstheme.com to roots.io — we waited months for the domain to expire/drop from the registrar and snatched it up right away thanks to Nick
- Welcomed Chris to the team
- Created a new site for Roots, started offering screencasts and plugins
- Released Bedrock, our modern WordPress stack
- Moved the roots-sass fork (using the official port of Bootstrap Sass) to the Roots org, maintained by Kalen
We plan to continue helping people modernize their WordPress development workflow in 2014 and we're looking forward to it. Thank you for all of the support!
